This storm impacts analysis design covers 11 specific threats, ranging from thunderstorms to winter weather issues. General Storm Impacts is was created to be a broad, wide-ranging design that doesn’t focus heavily on a particular threat, but zoom out and allow the forecaster/designer to analyze a system on a large-scale.

GWI is an excellent tool for those who want a single product with the ability to forecast a wide range of potential threats, whether it be severe related, or on the reverse side of things with the ability to forecast winter weather threats. Aside from those two extremes, general impacts such as rainfall, wind, and flooding can be utilized for an event such as a potent and warm mid-latitude cyclone.

GWI includes the eleven threat bars, with unique bar designs:

  • Extreme
